Poured myself two fingers of Chicken Cock (words I never thought I would say) grabbed an Excalibur and hit the deck. Suffered through a short sprinkle but was not deterred. Been enjoying the longer smokes lately. Good pairing. The bourbon has a honey flavor to it and goes down smooth. The coffee notes of the cigar really come out with the bourbon.

So I’m roughly a week into using this device I’ve been having a lot of fun scanning myself. Something satisfying about doing that and seeing your blood sugar and how your body is reacting to certain foods, or even no food at all. Your body reacts differently to foods depending on what you have been eating. I was on a low carb diet and put some maple syrup into my coffee to sweeten it and see how I reacted. Big spike! But that was on low carb. I tried a higher carb diet for a few days and did the maple syrup again. Barely a bump. Must have been because…

I decided it was time to step up my reverse osmosis game and leave my home built version and get myself a professionally built, but still hobby, maple sap RO. I still have my personal version and it works great, but just too slow… I need to run it overnight most of the time and when I do, sometimes the pump will run dry. I’m pretty sure I ruined last seasons pump. I haven’t tested it, but I recall it not working very well at the end of the season (if at all). This version will still get my sap up to 8 brix but at a blazing 50 gallons…

I had a few people ask where I heard about the Nutrisense Glucose Monitor and app that I’ve been writing about lately. Honestly, it was on the Brad Kearns podcast I was listening to one day and this company was on as a guest. Basically a simple type of advertisement where the company spoke about their product, the benefits, and well, I was sold. After buying the product, I sat there and thought of all the other products I had been introduced to through listening to my favorite podcasts. Talk about perfect targeted advertising! Here I am listening to a podcast about things I enjoy, the host is speaking with…

I have been wanting to test out a CGM (Continuous Glucose Monitor) ever since these came onto the market. These are simple devices that attached to your arm – yes there is a small needed – and yes it looks larger and more menacing than it is!! I’m not diabetic, I really just wanted to see how my body reacted to certain types of foods. You’ve heard of the Glycemic Index? If not, in short it is how your body reacts to the sugar in a food. As you can imagine, your body will react differently to honey versus oatmeal. While they are both forms of carbohydrates, your body can…
