    My Grandfather and Real Estate

Just a warning: This is very much a rambling post I learned a lot from my Grandfather. He taught me about the way things were and ought to be. He was someone that had a heart of gold (stories of him delivering food to needy people or elderly that couldn’t leave their homes in winter – with no prompting or reward, it was just the right thing to do), he fought in World War 2 as a B-17E Pilot but never spoke too much about it. Oh he loved his WWII movies though! Always watching them. He even set up a mock cockpit and taught me how to fly one…

    Make a Custom Cigar Box

If you’ve been following along for a while, you know that I love cigars. I also enjoy all the little extras that go along with cigars. Cutters, lighters, ash-trays, and travel containers. I decided to take one of my travel containers, called a “herf-a-dor”: First internet search brought me up this: https://www.cigarsinternational.com/p/herf-a-dor-travel-humidor-travel-cases/1437456/ I removed all the foam and cut up some of my old cedar cigar boxes and created this: I love the uniqueness of it. I’ll toss in a few cigars for a get together along with my cutter and lighter. Maybe a broveda pack (62%) if I plan on the cigars staying in there for more than a…

What’s with all the Non-Prime Amazon Prime Lately?

Ordering for Christmas this past week. Bought a bunch of items that were prime. I don’t get it in two days, I get it in two weeks. The heck? Just so you know I’m not pulling your leg. I ordered this for my kid: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BE5CT8U/ Record player that has blue tooth so it can go to her speaker. Great! Amazon prime! Two days! Great! Right? Well, I got it in two days… But I ordered it three weeks ago!!! So what the actual Amazon prime. Why do I have prime anyhow? I’m pretty sure I’m going to not renew my prime. I don’t see the point anymore nor do I…

    The Chicken Wrangler

There is this construction site just down the road where a new home is being erected.  Apparently some fine upstanding citizen decided that that was a perfect place to dump a flock of chickens.  A kind neighbor alerted me to them as he saw them and thought they were mine and they just got loose. My birds were safely tucked away inside their coop. So I spent a very rainy Sunday day rounding up chickens. Now for those folks who have never had to round up chickens, it is akin to herding kittens with a broom.  They all scatter and you’re lucky to get just one. I was eventually able…

Why is there a Motorcycle in the House?

A while back I saw a post on an instagram feed where this guy put a motorcycle on his mantle above his fireplace.  To be fair, it was really on top of the stone work, all lit up and looked like a bachelor pad any guy would love to own. I asked my wife how come we don’t have my motorcycle inside as I walked around the house looking for a place to put it.  To no one’s surprise, she said in a diplomatic way that it probably wouldn’t be the best idea. Dejected but not deterred, I went about my day. Well today I asked again…  I didn’t get…
