Maple Sap as a Sports Drink?

Using maple sap (aka maple water) as a sports drink isn’t anything new. Here is an article back from 2014 proclaiming this: https://www.wellnesstoday.com/nutrition-recipes/maple-water-the-next-natural-energy-drink Ever since the coconut water craze, which I believe has come and gone, other products were looking to jump on the bandwagon. The Maple Industry was one and it also had the product. Maple sap has natural sugars, and perfectly suited as a recovery drink. I have the sap, I have the RO to get even sugar content… Why the Reverse Osmosis? I figure this is the best way to get to a consistent 3% sugar content and also because it will be filtered through the pre-filter…

    I Will Miss You

The bond between a dog and their owner is a bond that rivals the love for your own child. An unspoken bond, really a one way conversation, one where somewhere in the back of your mind you hope they speak back. I asked and you gave me everything you could. I wanted you to see one more snow fall, and you did. I wanted you to take one more swim, and you did. I wanted you to see one more birthday, and you did. I wanted you to enjoy one more time in the sun and you did. I kept asking and you kept on delivering. In the end I…

    Homebrewing – Chocolate Milk Stout

It’s been a good long time since I’ve made a good home brewed beer. I used to love making it, but it was also easier when I had folks that drank all I could make. Back in college I made over 100 gallons one year. Hundred and five to be exact. It was because I could… and because the legal limit was 100, so being in college and being me, that extra 5 was to show the man he couldn’t contain me. I had a few new home brew toys that have gone unused and unloved for too long. I went online to a supply shop and picked up something…

    Happy 14th Birthday

We adopted Penny almost 13 years ago along with her kennel (not litter) mate who lived to 12 years old. The two were inseparable and went on many adventures together So we had to make sure we celebrated Penny’s milestone of making it to 14 years old with some “pup”cakes. I made them on Sunday and even had one myself. They are dense, but perfect for a dog with banana, peanut butter, and some sliced carrots. One removed spleen and well spent money later, Penny is still with us and enjoying her best life. We surely can’t ask for more from you. Happy Birthday old girl!

Day 4: Coffee is still black

No need looking for days 1 through 3, there are no posts. Just letting the world know that I’m doing world carnivore month (with some caveats) and while I’m not supposed to have coffee, I’ve decided that I’m going to have coffee but sans the maple syrup and cream I usually put in it. In regards to dieting, I’ve learned that the keto / low carb diet works on my body the best and is the diet my body is most receptive towards. Carnivore is just a keto diet, but a bit more restrictive. Really the carnivore diet should be seen as an elimination diet. Let your body reset and…
