Looking through my media on this blog, I noticed I had a lot of uploaded photos for posts that just didn’t happen. Today’s flashback will be to the day the Mrs and I took a Friday off and headed out on the boat, throw out the anchor on a nice quiet spot and enjoy the smooth water before any of the weekend tourists showed up. Wine, water, and women! Looking forward to more time on the water this year with the new boat!

Spent some time up at the lake, fishing, swimming and watching sunsets. Not to get all mushy, but watching the sunsets was actually a very relaxing and enjoyable event. Even during the height of the July weekends (tourist time) the lake was quite empty when the sun was going down. We would make our way out into the “broads” (the middle of the lake), cut the motor and just let the wind catch the boat broad-side and we would gently drift. Only because the wind caught us I knew we were drifting, but otherwise, no discernable movement was noticed. Even when jumping off the boat in 100+ feet of water,…

Who knew this was a thing?! Most ski mountains have turned into year round resorts, and Gunstock is no exception. They have a giant zip line course, a smaller adventure zip line and obstacle course, segway tours, mountain top yoga, mountain biking trails, hiking trails, a pond with paddle boards and other items, even a mountain coaster. That morning while the wife was doing the mountain top yoga, she found out they were holding a moon-lit nighttime zip line run. Limited to one group of 20…

Another weekend has come and gone, had some friends up end decided to hop on the boat and head down to Alton to see the sights. They had a sea side craft fair and antique boat show. Too bad the weather was screaming rain and thundershowers all day. We got a little wet early on and did our best to enjoy the break in the rain. This of course meant that many of the babied antique boats were not out – and rightfully so! Apparently if you want to be successful at your local craft fair you need to sell fudge! That was by far the most popular tent! Sorry,…

What a weekend! Started up by Scuba diving on Friday. Saturday took the Mrs and I on an almost 7 mile hike up two mountains, so it was time to take it easy on Sunday and just float in the water! We started the day by heading down to Sleeper island to see the Sleeper Island Castle. The Castle has a few different names due to the people that built it or lived in it over the years (been there for 100 years) but most locals tend to call it “Sleeper’s Castle” now. The problem down there, I quickly found out, was that across the channel between Sleepers Island and…
