Cold Nights, Fire, and Cohiba Maduro 5

My wife and I recently purchased a new fire pit and we’ve been having and almost nightly habit of collecting deadwood around our house and lot and having a nice warm fire to sit by while the spring nights are still cold.

Since tonight is Friday I decided to pull out a cigar. Tonight’s choice is a Cohiba maduro number five. It’s not a very large cigar. It’s the type of cigar you would have when you realize you only have 20 minutes to enjoy it. It’s the perfect size for that.

It is a good cigar, but I have a hard time calling it a great cigar. Also the word maduro when applied to this cigar is definitely a head scratcher. Is it aged longer than its counterpart? Yes. Aged to where someone would call it maduro? Highly doubtful.

These cigars have been sitting in my humidor for well over a year, combined with the cold, this was the perfect sized cigar for the night.

So I sat outside enjoyed my cigar and fire and listened to the caroling of the owls often the distance. I love living in the country.

Hope everyone enjoys their Friday and weekend!
